Imran Khan says it’s evident PDM govt intends to arrest him
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has challenged arrest warrant for PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
PTI leader and former federal minister for information Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said this adding that hearing on the plea was expected shortly. “Shibli Faraz and Barrister Gohar have reached the IHC,” he said.
Earlier, in a tweet, Fawad Chaudhry said the warrant mentioned address of Bani Gala and police had arrived at Zaman Park. First they should go back to the court and get it correct, he added.
A heavy contingent of police have arrived at Zaman Park to arrest Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and to implement the court order of his summon in Toshakhana case, Bol News reported.
The police team would make the PTI chief act upon the court’s summon. The team of Islamabad police has reached Zaman Park along with Lahore police team. The CCPO Lahore has directed Civil Police Line to remain alert as police might carry out an operation.
Prisoner and police vans are parked on the road around Zaman Park. A heavy contingent of police has reached Mall Road.
The DIG Operations said they had come to arrest Imran Khan. To a query, where he would be transferred. The police officer said let him be arrested then they would apprise about it. He said they would implement the arrest warrant. Action would be taken against the ones taking law into their hands, he said.
Islamabad local court judge had issued arrest warrant for Khan on March 13 over non-appearance in the Toshakhana case.
