LAHORE: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) worker Ali Bilal did not die of torture on March 8, Bol News reported.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore along with Punjab Inspector General Usman Anwar, Mohsin Naqvi said they sat together immediately after the incident as death of any citizen was not a meagre incident. He said the government did not give any instruction for torture.
The Punjab IG said the entire case would be brought before the masses and reply of each and every video circulating on social media would be given. “Action will be taken, if police officials are involved in the killing,” he said adding that the vehicle in which the victim was brought to the hospital was traced on Waris Khan Road with the help of 31 surveillance cameras.
He said a video was reported of a black vehicle’s coming to Services Hospital. Name of the vehicle’s driver was Jahanzaib and its owner was Raja Shakeel, he added. He said Raja Shakeel was a worker of PTI Central Punjab.
Usman Anwar said The black vehicle left Ali Bilal at the hospital at 6:52 and Raja Shakeel informed PTI leader Yasmeen Rashid about the incident at 8:00. He said blood stains of the victim were present on the vehicle.
Mohsin Naqvi said false allegations were levelled in a press conference. He said the way his children and relatives were sent messages was wrong. He would not come under any pressure, he added.
He said Yasmeen Rashid told all the information to the leadership at Zaman Park along with Raja Shakeel. They held a press conference after that alleging that he was murdered, he said.
The caretaker CM said if levelling allegation of murder was so easy.
