Interim bail of Asad Umar, PTI chief’s sisters extended in May 9 cases
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore on Tuesday extended interim bail of PTI’s Asad Umar, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan in May 9 attack cases until November 22s.
PTI leader Asad Umar, and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s sisters appeared in court as their interim bail had expired.
The investigating officer reported to the court that the investigation involving the accused was at a standstill, while requesting the permission to arrest the PTI leaders.
Burhan Muazzam Malik, the lawyer representing the accused, contested the investigator’s claims, stating that they were incorrect.
Burhan proposed that the court should set a specific timeframe, adding that if no progress was made in the investigation during this time, the investigator should provide a report to the court.
Additionally, Burhan Muazzam requested clarity on the accusations against his clients.
He pointed out that whenever they attempted to join the investigation, they couldn’t locate the investigating officer, which added to the confusion and delays.
Ultimately, the court ruled in favor of extending the interim bails of Asad Umar, Aleema Khan, and Uzma Khan until November 22
