
Constitutional procedure to be followed on appointment of caretaker CM KP: Solangi
ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi said on Saturday that after the death of Chief Minister KP, the procedure given in the constitution will be followed.
In a post on social media networking site X, he said the spirit of the constitution was very clear.
The Governor, Chief Secretary, and the entire provincial government will perform their duties under the Constitution, Murtaza Solangi added.
There was no crisis and the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be appointed soon, Murtaza Solangi maintained.
He ruled out any room for any kind of speculation.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Azam Khan has passed away on Saturday morning, several hours after being admitted to a hospital, Bol News reported.
He was brought to a private hospital in Peshawar for treatment on Friday night, said spokesperson of the private hospital. The spokesperson said the caretaker CM was under treatment at Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) Hospital.
A doctor of the hospital, Gulzar said the CT MRI scan showed that he had a hernia. He had also having problem of diarrhea and vomiting for four days, he said. He was brought to the hospital for chest pain.
His funeral prayer would be held at 3:30 pm in Charsadda.
He had taken oath as the caretaker CM on Jan 21, 2023. Muhammad Azam Khan was a retired bureaucrat, he had also served as the Finance Minister, Federal Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs.
