DI KHAN: At least five people were killed and 21 others injured in a bomb blast near Tank Adda in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday, Bol News reported.

As per the preliminary reports, the blast took place near a vehicle carrying Elite Force police officials to Tikwara check-post and firing was opened following the blast.

Rescue 1123 said the injured included Muarziq Suleman Khel, Abdul Hameed, Ishaq, Qudratullah, Nasir, Yasmin, Shireen and Qamar Zaman. The injured include a woman and two girls. All those killed are civilians aged between 15 and 22.

Police said a motorcycle was used for carrying out the bomb blast.

The KP bomb disposal squad and law enforcement agencies have arrived at the scene and corned off the area. Emergency measures have been implemented in hospitals in DI Khan. According to the initial report, the explosive device was planted on a motorbike.

On October 17, five children were reportedly injured after a hand grenade exploded in Wadh city of Balochistan’s Khuzdar district.

The police had reported that the iinjured children belonged to a local madrassa. Police had said that the madrassa students found the hand grenade from the Zarchin hill, while they were playing in the area.

The injured children were immediately shifted to the hospital for medical aid.
