
HEC launches third phase of scholarship program for Afghan students
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has officially launched the third phase of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Program, aiming to provide educational opportunities for Afghan students.
This new phase is set to grant 4,500 scholarships to Afghan students, enabling them to pursue higher education in Pakistani universities over a three-year period.
At a recent graduation ceremony, certificates were awarded to 281 Afghan students who successfully completed their studies in various fields during Phase II of the scholarship program.
This initiative has already had a significant impact, with 6,000 Afghan students benefitting from scholarships in the first two phases.
The caretaker education minister, Madad Ali Sindhi, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of this program for Afghan students.
He encouraged them to identify the challenges facing Afghanistan and utilize their intellectual skills to discover innovative solutions.
Chairman HEC also recognized the accomplishments of the students and stressed the role of networking in shaping their future careers.
This initiative not only provides educational opportunities but also fosters cross-border cooperation and support.
