LHC issues written order on Khadija Shah’s house arrest
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued a written order on the house arrest of PTI activist Khadija Shah.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi directed the Deputy Commissioner to provide a detailed report and reply by November 22.
The detention was reportedly ordered based on an Intelligence Committee report, and Khadija Shah’s husband, Jahanzeb Amin, filed the petition challenging the detention.
Jahanzeb Amin described Khadija Shah as a law-abiding mother of three, asserting the allegations against her are baseless.
Khadija’s husband urged the court to annul the detention order, take action against involved officers, and order Khadija Shah’s immediate release.
On November 17, the Lahore administration has ordered the detention of Khadija Shah for a period of 30 days under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance.
According to the order, SP Cantt Division Lahore and the district intelligence branch recommended Shah’s detention under 3-MPO for the period of 30 days.
