
Police arrest gang involved in tempering cell phone’s IMEI numbers
KARACHI: Police on Monday arrested a gang involved in tempering IMEI numbers of the cell phones stole or snatched from citizens, Bol News reported.
SSP Special Investigation Unity (SIU) Junaid Sheikh in a press conference said two suspects Habibullah and Suleman were arrested. The suspects were arrested during a robbery attempt on MA Jinnah Road.
Police recovered 156 mobile phones, 12 laptops and 186 tablets from the suspects. The suspects used to sell the machines taken out of the snatched mobile phones on low rates. They were in contact with other street criminals.
The suspects allegedly earned millions of rupees through the stolen gadgets.
