Gas supply to Korangi, Defence areas to remain suspended tomorrow
KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced its intention to halt gas supply to certain areas of Karachi due to winter conditions and the city’s residents already experiencing prolonged, unannounced power outages.
According to a statement released by the gas supply company, a gas distribution infrastructure development task is scheduled for December 24 (Sunday), which will lead to the suspension of gas in specific regions.
The statement outlined the planned development task, specifying the installation of a 16″ diameter isolation valve on the 20″ diameter C-station main in main Ibrahim Hyderi, Cantonment Korangi Creek. To execute this “essential” task, gas supply will be temporarily suspended in both industrial and residential areas of Korangi from 9 am to 8 pm.
Simultaneously, gas supply will be disrupted for approximately 13 hours in parts of the Defence Housing Authority, a prestigious locality in the bustling metropolis.
Although the SSGC expressed regret for any inconvenience caused, customers remain dissatisfied with the interruption in gas supply, particularly during the winter season.
