Secretary finance assures ECP to disburse election funds in two days

The Secretary of Finance Imdad Ullah Bosal has assured the Election Commission of Pakistan of disbursing the election funds in two days.

The meeting between Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal and the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, just concluded on Monday with assurances from the Finance Secretary regarding the release of funds for the upcoming general elections.

During the meeting, Imdadullah Bosal assured the Chief Election Commissioner that the funds would be disbursed to the Election Commission within the next two days.

In response, the Chief Election Commissioner Raja emphasized the urgency of the Finance Ministry providing the election funds within this specified timeframe.

He conveyed that in the event of non-provision of funds within the stipulated two days, the Election Commission would resort to approaching the Supreme Court for resolution.

To address the current status of funds and convey the concerns of the Election Commission, the Chief Election Commissioner has decided to write a letter to the caretaker Prime Minister.
