Mainly cold and dry weather is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday evening/night, Friday and Saturday, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the synoptic situation, a low westerly wave prevails over Kashmir and adjoining areas.

Under these situations, mainly cold and dry weather is likely in the twin cities and the most parts of the country on Thursday evening/night and the next two days.

Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 01-03 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05-07 C on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather conquered over most parts and partially cloudy and freezing over upper parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, 02 mm rain was reported in Kakul.

Leh remained the coldest place in Pakistan where temperature dropped to 12 C below freezing.

Minimum temperature in Kalam and Astore was recorded at -09 C, Skardu -06 C, Gupis, Malam Jabba, Bagrote and Hunza -04 C, Chitral and Dir -03 C.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 03 C. Relative moisture during the morning was recorded at 86 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C. Relative moisture during the morning was recorded at 69 percent.
