Shireen Mazari’s ECL removal application fixes hearing
Islamabad: Former federal minister Shireen Mazari approached the Islamabad High Court to remove her name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed Shireen Mazari’s application for hearing tomorrow. Justice Thaman Rifat Imtiaz will hear the application of the former federal minister tomorrow.
In addition to that, the application includes the Secretary of Interior and other parties.
Shireen Mazari’s name was removed from the passport control list after the order of the Islamabad High Court in December last year.
The Director General of Immigration and Passports issued a memorandum to remove her name from the passport control list.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had issued a detailed decision on the request to remove Shireen Mazari’s name from the passport control list on December 2.
In the judgment, it was said that the petitioner is not a fugitive or admissible in any case, DG Passport and Immigration should remove the name from the PCL and submit a report within a week.
It should be remembered that after the violent incidents of May 9, Shireen Mazari had announced on May 23 that she would leave PTI and stay away from politics, saying that she has no connection with any political party, including PTI, from now on.
