275 Pakistanis deported from UAE prisons
The UAE authorities repatriated 275 Pakistani individuals who had been released from prisons just before Eidul Fitr, allowing them to reunite with their families for the holiday.
This repatriation effort was facilitated by the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), in coordination with local law enforcement agencies.
During Ramadan, more than 270 Pakistani inmates were released, with the majority opting to return home for Eid celebrations. However, some individuals without proper documentation remained in the UAE.
PAD’s annual Ramadan Welfare Campaign successfully distributed food packages to 950 families and provided daily iftar meals to over 250 individuals at the local Pakistani Mosque in Oud Metha.
Faisal Sunka, PAD’s welfare director, expressed gratitude for the community’s support in assisting those in need, stressing the importance of remembering those with limited resources, especially during Eid festivities. In collaboration with the UPS Foundation, PAD delivered food packages to 100 deserving families, benefiting 400 individuals.
Sunka underscored the organization’s dedication to providing affordable medical care at the Pakistan Medical Centre (PMC), where over 60% of patients received free treatment in 2023 as part of the organization’s medical welfare services.
