President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Atif Ikram Sheikh has said in a press conference that A think tank has been formed to revive the country’s economy. Former Commerce Minister Gohar Ijaz has been given leadership of the think tank. The country’s economy is facing a lot of problems at the moment By 2030.
President FPCCI added that Pakistan’s exports have to reach 100 billion dollars. Due to the high cost of electricity in Pakistan, the industry is affected. Electricity prices in Pakistan have reached 20 cents.
He further said that In regional countries, electricity is available at 6 to 7 cents per unit that is why Pakistan’s industries cannot compete with regional countries. Basic problems should be solved to increase exports. At this time export industries are suffering from disaster.
During the Press Conference the members and delegates of FPCCI showed their confidence in the role of special investment facilitation council. They said for the revival of the country’s economy SIFC was the need of the hour.
