
Gold price in Pakistan on May 27 up by Rs800 to Rs240,800/tola
ISLAMABAD: The current government has declared a public holiday on Tuesday, May 28, in commemoration of ‘Youm-e-Takbeer,’ the day Pakistan became a nuclear power.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that ‘Youm-e-Takbeer’ serves as a reminder of the nation’s steadfast commitment to its defense and sovereignty.
The prime minister emphasized the importance of this day, noting that it unites the country under the green and white flag to celebrate its resolute determination.
He highlighted May 28, 1998, as a pivotal moment when Pakistan successfully conducted nuclear tests, fortifying its defense capabilities.
Sharif pledged continued efforts towards ensuring economic security and prosperity for the nation.
The nuclear tests were conducted in response to India’s nuclear activities, marking Pakistan as the first Muslim-majority country and the seventh nation globally to achieve nuclear power status.
