
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur
A recent meeting chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, addressed various issues faced by elected local bodies in the province.
The meeting involved representatives from Tehsil Councils, Village and Neighborhood Councils, and other relevant officials. Key decisions were made during this meeting.
Enhanced Privileges
The government will release necessary funds to provide honorarium and other perks to elected local body representatives. Additionally, the honorarium for Mayors and Tehsil Chairmen will be doubled. Necessary amendments to the Local Government Act will be tabled for formal approval, enabling the province to allocate developmental grants to local bodies.
Shuhada Package
The Chief Minister directed authorities to extend a shuhada package (similar to government employees) to the family members of elected local body representatives who lost their lives in terrorist incidents.
Strengthening Local Government
Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized the importance of local bodies in resolving grassroots issues. The government aims to strengthen and empower the existing local body system through administrative and legal reforms. Elected representatives will receive support to serve the public effectively at the local level.
Facilitating Official Conveyance
The Chief Minister instructed authorities to compile details of available vehicles with Deputy Commissioners across the province to facilitate elected local body representatives with official conveyance facilities.
Overall, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is committed to improving local governance and ensuring that elected representatives can effectively address citizens’ needs.
