Pakistan to launch another Satellite Mission after iCube-Qamar
Following the triumphant launch of Pakistan’s inaugural lunar satellite, iCUBE, another satellite is set to be sent into orbit on May 30.
The forthcoming satellite, MM1, is a joint venture between SUPARCO and the National Space Agency and aims to contribute to the advancement of a state-of-the-art communication network.
Tailored to meet the growing demands of the telecommunications sector, MM1 is positioned to elevate 5G internet services across the nation.
Notably, Pakistan’s debut lunar mission, ICUBE Qamar, reached a significant milestone by successfully entering the moon’s orbit just three days ago.
Functioning under extreme conditions, enduring temperatures as low as minus 100 degrees Celsius, MM1 is outfitted with a 7kg one-megapixel camera designed precisely for missions with strict power constraints.
Its capability to transmit images at a modest rate of 1-kbps will aid in surface-level analysis, offering vital data on crater locations, water, and potential traces of ice on the lunar surface. These discoveries, acquired through various methodologies, hold substantial promise for global utilization.
