‘Country can’t progress until terrorism eliminated in Balochistan, KP’
LAHORE: In a meeting of the Central Working Committee of Muslim League-N held in Lahore, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been nominated as acting party president of the committee.
The meeting was attended by the PML-N leaders, including Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah and other senior members.
The appointment of Mr. Sharif as acting president was approved by senior party members which was supported by other members.
The leader of PML-N Saiful Mulok Khokhar said the Mr Sharif will remain the acting party president till May 28 until Nawaz Sharif will be elected as the president in the general council meeting on same date.
On the other hand, Rana Sanaullah Khan was appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner by the Central Working Committee, while the members of the Election Commission will be nominated for the election of the permanent party president.
The decisions from the meeting will be ratified by the CEC and will receive final approval at the General Council meeting, the reports said.
It should be remembered that a few days ago Mr. Sharif had resigned from the presidency of PML-N while some time ago PML-N Punjab had proposed Nawaz Sharif to take over the party’s presidency.
