Saudi Arabia has called for the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon...
Eid ul Adha date decision by Ruet-e-Hilal committee set for Friday
As Pakistan gears up for Eid ul Adha, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet tomorrow (Friday) to see the Zil Hajj moon, and determine the Eid holiday date. Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Chairman of the Committee, will chair the meeting, as the state broadcaster reports.
Eid ul Adha is celebrated on the 10th of Zil Hajj, following the sighting of the moon, signalling the start of the Islamic month.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz revealed that the new moon would appear at 5:38 pm, with a high likelihood of visibility on June 7, being over 26 hours old. This anticipation sets the stage for the Eid ul Adha date announcement.
As the festival nears, cattle markets have emerged across Pakistan, facilitating the purchase of sacrificial animals like cows, goats, sheep, or camels.
Karachi’s Taiser Town at the Northern Bypass hosts one of the largest markets, ensuring centralized animal trading.
The Karachi cattle market has installed ATMs and temporary bank branches to streamline transactions, ensuring convenient and secure buyer payments.
With excitement building for the moon sighting, preparations for Eid ul Adha are in full swing, with families eagerly awaiting to partake in the festival’s customs and religious observances.
