The Punjab Home Department has announced a significant decision to enhance public safety and order during the upcoming Eidul Adha celebrations. Effective immediately, the sale of Qurbani animals on the roads and streets of Lahore is strictly prohibited.

This measure, enforced under Section 144, aims to streamline the sale of sacrificial animals and prevent the chaos typically seen on the city’s streets during this festive season.

Ensuring Order During Eidul Adha

Section 144 has been invoked to prohibit the sale and purchase of Qurbani animals outside designated cattle markets. This regulation will remain in effect until June 20, coinciding with the preparation period for Eidul Adha.

The decision, prompted by the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore, underscores the necessity of maintaining law and order during this busy time.
