This measure, enforced under Section 144, aims to streamline the sale of sacrificial animals and prevent the chaos typically seen on the city’s streets during this festive season.
Section 144 has been invoked to prohibit the sale and purchase of Qurbani animals outside designated cattle markets. This regulation will remain in effect until June 20, coinciding with the preparation period for Eidul Adha.
The decision, prompted by the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore, underscores the necessity of maintaining law and order during this busy time.

The implementation of Section 144 is a proactive measure to safeguard public order and facilitate the smooth flow of traffic in Lahore during the Eidul Adha festivities.
By restricting the sale of Qurbani animals to designated markets, the Punjab Home Department aims to prevent the usual street congestion and ensure a more organized environment for all residents.
Residents and sellers are urged to comply with the new regulations to ensure a peaceful and orderly Eidul Adha.
The designated cattle markets are fully equipped to handle the expected influx of buyers and sellers, providing a controlled environment for the sale of Qurbani animals.
