The aviation sector has been in the spotlight due to several recent incidents raising safety concerns among passengers.

For instance, severe turbulence impacted a Singapore Airlines flight on May 21, resulting in one fatality due to a presumed heart attack and injuries to 30 individuals. The incident caused the aircraft to make an unscheduled landing in Bangkok.

In a similar event, turbulence injured 12 passengers on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Ireland, as confirmed by Dublin Airport on May 26. The flight, QR017, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, touched down safely and on time around 1pm local time in Dublin.

These consecutive events, including the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the life of Iran’s former president Ebrahim Raisi, have prompted researchers to link the rise in flight turbulence to climate change effects.
