Isolated monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan on Wednesday night, Thursday, and Friday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are affecting the upper and central regions of Pakistan at lower tropospheric levels, with a westerly wave influencing the upper parts.

Under these conditions, monsoon rains are forecasted for the twin cities and isolated areas in northeast and south Punjab, the Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northeast Balochistan on Wednesday night.

On Thursday and Friday, increased monsoon rains are expected in the twin cities and isolated areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, Kashmir, and northeast Balochistan, with occasional breaks. Elsewhere, hot and humid weather is anticipated.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature is expected to range from 35-37°C on Thursday and 36-38°C on Friday. Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is also expected to range from 35-37°C on Thursday and 36-38°C on Friday.

In the past 24 hours, hot and humid conditions prevailed across most parts of the country, with rain, wind, and thundershowers occurring in isolated areas of eastern and central Punjab, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sibbi and Dalbandin remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. Maximum temperature in Nokkundi was recorded at 46°C, and Jacobabad at 45°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 28°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 89 percent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 27°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 78 percent.
