
Significant rain expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pakistan
Monsoon rains are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night, Thursday, and Friday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are likely to penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan tonight. A westerly wave is also expected to approach the region on Thursday.
Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds are forecasted for Balakot, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Battagram, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Khyber, Bajaur, and Kurram on Wednesday night.
On Thursday and Friday, more rains and gusty winds are expected in Balakot, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Battagram, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Khyber, Bajaur, Waziristan, and Kurram. Heavy falls may also occur at a few places during this period.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 40-42°C on Thursday and 38-40°C on Friday.
In the last 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed in Peshawar and most districts of the province. However, Buner received 7 mm of rain.
Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province, with a maximum temperature recorded at 45°C. Relative humidity in the evening was 47 percent.
In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C, and the evening relative humidity was 40 percent.
