Raoof Hasan remanded in CTD custody for two days
ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has placed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hasan in the custody of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for a two-day physical remand in connection with an anti-state propaganda case.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented Hasan before the ATC judge after his initial remand period ended.
Following the arguments, the ATC approved a two-day remand, transferring Hasan to the CTD for further investigation. Late Tuesday night, Hasan was moved to Adiala Jail, a development confirmed by the jail administration.
On July 22, Islamabad Police arrested PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan at the party secretariat in sector G-8. The police conducted a raid based on substantial evidence, claiming the PTI Secretariat operated as the center of an international disinformation network via its digital media center.
The raid was informed by a PTI-affiliated international social media activist, leading to the seizure of computers and records now part of the ongoing investigation.
