
Isolated rains expected in Lahore, parts of Punjab
More heavy rains and isolated very heavy falls are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), deep depression over Rann of Kutch, India will likely deepen into cyclonic rainstorm during next 24 hours. A westerly wave conquers over upper parts of the country.
Under these situations, more widespread rains are likely in the twin cities, Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Thursday night and the next two days with irregular gaps.
Scattered heavy to very heavy and insulated extremely heavy falls are likely in Tharparker, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Matiari, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Karachi till August 31.
Heavy rains may cause flash flooding in hill rushes of Dera Ghazi Khan and local nullahs/streams of Karachi, Hyderabad, Dadu, Kalat, Khuzdar, Jaffarabad, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Barkhan, Loralai, Awaran, Panjgur, Washuk, Mastung and Lasbella. Heavy rains may trigger landslides in Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainstorm may cause urban flooding in low lying areas of Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Nowshera, Swabi and Peshawar.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will predicted to remain between 26-28°C on Friday and 27-29°C on Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 29-31°C on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls arisen in Sindh, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and northeast Balochistan.
