Irregular rains expected in upper districts Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more monsoon rains with heavy showers and gusty winds in Lahore and much of Punjab on Tuesday night, Wednesday, and Thursday, with intermittent breaks.
A deep depression currently situated north of Gujrat in India is expected to move towards adjacent areas of Pakistan, particularly Eastern Sindh, within the next 24 hours.
As a result, strong monsoon currents will enter the country, mainly affecting the southern regions. Additionally, a westerly wave is anticipated to impact the northern regions starting from August 29.
These weather conditions are likely to bring widespread rain and strong winds across Punjab during the forecast period. Heavy downpours are expected on Tuesday night in several areas, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, and others across Punjab.
On Wednesday and Thursday, heavy rainfall is anticipated in districts such as Attock, Jhelum, Lahore, and many others throughout the province.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 33-35°C on Wednesday and 35-37°C on Thursday.
In the past 24 hours, some areas of Punjab have already experienced rain with isolated heavy showers.
