New petrol price in Pakistan – January 16
ISLAMABAD: Petroleum product prices in Pakistan are expected to decrease starting October 1, following a significant drop in the international market.
Sources said that the federal government is likely to announce this reduction on September 30.
The price of petrol could decrease by Rs 1 to 3 per litre, with diesel prices potentially dropping by Rs 3 per litre as well. The price cuts are being considered due to a decline in global oil prices, with Brent crude falling by $0.50 to $72.27 per barrel.
Before the announcement on September 30, the Prime Minister’s approval will be sought for the new pricing.
Earlier, on September 15, the government had already reduced petroleum prices, providing relief to consumers. At that time, petrol was reduced by Rs 10 per litre, diesel by Rs 13.6 per litre, light diesel by Rs 12 per litre, and kerosene by Rs 11 to Rs 15 per litre.
