PTI founder fears he may be tried in military court
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan has feared that he may be tried in military court for May 9 mayhem.
He expressed his apprehensions while talking to his lawyers at Adiala Jail, here on Tuesday.
After the meeting with the PTI founder at the jail, Advocates Intezar Panjota and Ali Ejaz Buttar told the media that they had discussed with the founder different cases including the petition filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding his expected trial in military court.
They said that they had requested the court to fix their plea for tomorrow but their application was objected to. The PTI founder questioned how and under what law a former prime minister could be tried in a military court.
On objection to the PTI plea, the founder lamented that the issue was more important than any other thing, the lawyers said.
They said that Al-Qadir Trust case was also discussed with PTI founder, adding that he also demanded the judgment regarding the reserved seats be announced immediately.
