Isolated rains likely in upper parts of Islamabad, Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast varying intensities of rain for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night and Wednesday, with intermittent breaks.

Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are affecting southern and eastern parts of the country, while a shallow westerly wave is present over Kashmir and nearby regions.

Under these conditions, rain is expected in the twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) and in isolated areas of upper/southeast Sindh, northeast/south Balochistan, northeast/south Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir on Tuesday night.

For Wednesday, more rain with isolated heavy showers is forecast for the twin cities, Sindh, northeast/south Balochistan, and south Punjab. Scattered showers are also likely in northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.

Temperatures in Islamabad are expected to reach a maximum of 33-35°C on Wednesday and Thursday, while Rawalpindi’s temperatures are predicted to range between 31-33°C on Wednesday and 32-34°C on Thursday.

Additionally, rain with isolated heavy showers has already been recorded in Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper/southeastern Sindh, northern/southeastern Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
