Bushra Bibi, Gandapur mysteriously disappear amid crackdown against PTI protestors
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest encountered challenges as key figures, Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur, mysteriously disappeared, leaving participants unsettled.
Sources revealed that PTI workers failed to convince Gandapur to continue leading the march toward D-Chowk, causing frustration among the crowd after a lengthy wait.
Meanwhile, the authorities pushed protesters back from D-Chowk, forcing them to retreat to the Blue Area, with some returning as far as Zero Point. The sudden disappearance of Bushra Bibi and Gandapur during the protest heightened concerns among the demonstrators.
On November 26, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi accused Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, of inciting chaos that resulted in loss of life and property in Islamabad. Without directly naming her, Naqvi criticized her role during a press conference in the capital amidst the ongoing protest.
Naqvi reported that the authorities had cleared D-Chowk, dispersing protesters to various locations without initiating any dialogue with them. He accused PTI of seeking to provoke violence and create “martyrs” by instigating casualties, a strategy the government successfully thwarted while avoiding fatalities.
