KARACHI: On Friday, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf praised Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) for nurturing a strong culture of research and development.

Addressing the 36th convocation ceremony as the chief guest, Admiral Ashraf commended PNEC for introducing postgraduate and undergraduate programs in emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and Computer Science.

He extended his congratulations to the Rector of NUST and the Commandant of PNEC on the first graduation ceremony of the BE Naval Architecture batch.

According to a news release by the Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy), the CNS also congratulated the prize winners, graduating students, and their families for the successful completion of their degrees.

In his address, Admiral Ashraf urged graduates to maintain strong character, prioritize the country’s interests above personal gains, and seek strength and guidance from Allah Almighty (SWT).

The Commandant of PNEC, Commodore Mudassar Khurshid, reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to providing quality education in all disciplines.

He also acknowledged the students’ remarkable achievements in national and international events.

The Rector of NUST highlighted the significant rise in the university’s global rankings this year, advancing by 14 places, a testament to its ongoing commitment to educational excellence.

During the ceremony, the CNS awarded medals to 33 top position holders, and the Rector conferred degrees upon 372 postgraduate and undergraduate students.

The event was attended by notable civil and military dignitaries, including Commander Karachi, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, and Lt General Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif Mirza (Retd), Rector NUST.
