Emergency imposed in Kurram by KP cabinet
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has declared an emergency in Kurram.
During the meeting, the cabinet approved measures to combat money laundering and terror financing, aiming to enhance financial regulations in the province.
Chief Minister Gandapur addressed the session, clarifying that no decisions had been made regarding operations in Tirah and Jani Khel. He emphasized that the government does not permit any group to possess heavy weapons.
He further stated that while the majority of people desire peace, certain elements are promoting sectarian hatred to destabilize the region. These groups, he noted, are spreading false narratives and twisting facts. The prevalence of illegal heavy weapons in the area, he added, is unjustified and a significant threat to peace.
