Muhammad Aurangzeb says govt won’t back step from reforms
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said on Saturday that protests are causing losses of around 190 million rupees every day.
He emphasized, “We need to avoid this kind of activity.”
Speaking at the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aurangzeb highlighted that certain steps are necessary to boost trade and investment.
The minister stated that the economy is stabilizing, and prices are starting to fall. “The private sector has to take the lead in driving the economy,” he added.
When a reporter questioned, “How can the government say prices are falling when everything is expensive?” the finance minister acknowledged the concern. He replied, “You are right. We are keeping an eye on the situation and will activate the price control committees to ensure relief for the people.”
Aurangzeb also said, “We must come together and agree that no compromises will be made on essential issues, no matter what happens.”
