
GHQ attack case: Shah Mehmood, Gandapur among 14 indicted
An anti-terrorism court has indicted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and 13 others in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case linked to the events of May 9.
Chief Minister Gandapur appeared before the court, resulting in the cancellation of his arrest warrant. Other prominent figures, including PTI founder Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Shibli Faraz, also attended the hearing.
The court formally charged Gandapur and 13 co-accused and adjourned the case until December 21. All accused pleaded not guilty.
The list of those indicted includes Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Shehryar Afridi, Colonel Shabbir Awan, Latasab Satti, Umar Tanveer Butt, Shibli Faraz, Kanwal Shauzab, Taimoor Masood, Saad Ali Khan, Sikandar Zaib, Zohaib Afridi, Fahad Masood, and Raja Nasser Mehmood.
To date, 113 individuals have been charged in connection with the GHQ attack case.
Chief Minister Gandapur, along with Afridi and Shauzab, filed applications under Section 265-D, which are set for a hearing on Wednesday. Gandapur has also appointed Advocate Ghulam Hasnain Sumbal as his legal representative.
After the court proceedings, Gandapur thanked the judge for canceling his arrest warrant. He later visited Adiala Jail to meet PTI founder Imran Khan.
