Islamabad: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has responded positively to their demands, expressing hope that seminaries and the nation will receive good news in the next two to three days.

Speaking to the media after a meeting with the Prime Minister, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the PM had invited them for discussions, during which the united stance of Tanzeemat Madaris Diniyah (organizations of religious seminaries) was presented.

The JUI-F chief shared that the Prime Minister was informed of the concerns of the Itehad Tanzeemat Madaris, and the meeting was held with the consent and confidence of Mufti Taqi Usmani. PPP leaders were also present at the meeting, during which the stance was reiterated.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman added that the Prime Minister gave a positive response to their demands, raising hopes of good news for religious seminaries and the nation within the coming days.

He further mentioned that with the approval of the bill from both houses of Parliament, it has now become an act. The President had previously raised an objection to it, which was addressed by the Speaker through necessary amendments. However, there has been no further response from the President regarding the Speaker’s reply.
