
Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf visits Oman, discusses security situation in Indian Ocean
Rawalpindi: The Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, recently visited Oman, where he held meetings with the Omani government and military officials.
According to the Pakistan Army’s Public Relations (ISPR) department, Admiral Naveed Ashraf met separately with the Minister of the Royal Court, the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, and the Commander of the National Defense College, where they discussed the security situation in the Indian Ocean and joint defense cooperation.
During the meetings, the Naval Chief highlighted the role of the Pakistan Navy in preventing piracy and smuggling, stating that the Pakistan Navy is a strong advocate for promoting maritime security in collaboration with other regional countries.
The ISPR further reported that Omani civilian and military officials appreciated the role of the Pakistan Navy in establishing regional maritime peace and stability.
Later, the Naval Chief visited key naval installations, including the Said Bin Sultan Naval Base, Royal Oman Navy’s warships, the Maritime Security Center, the National Defense College, the Military Technical College, and the Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy.
