Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani on Thursday urged the youth to contribute to the country’s development.

In expressing his views, Gillani called on the youth to follow in the footsteps of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, emphasizing the need to focus on advancing the fields of IT and technology.

He acknowledged that environmental challenges remain one of the biggest hurdles faced by Pakistan.

Gillani also praised Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, highlighting his efforts in addressing the sense of deprivation in the provinces.

Separately, last month in December, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Shazia Atta Marri criticized slow internet speeds in Pakistan.

During a session of the National Assembly in Islamabad, Marri expressed her frustration, saying, “Internet services have been disrupted, yet we’re introducing the Digital Nation Pakistan Bill.”

She added, “It’s laughable that we’re bringing this bill despite ongoing internet outages.”

Marri pointed out that discussions around firewalls and the lack of progress in e-commerce continue to hinder Pakistan’s digital development.
