‘Government committed to youth empowerment’
Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, stressed the importance of modern education and skills for youth empowerment while speaking at a Youth Conference in Lahore.
He praised the PML-N government’s laptop scheme, saying it helped students work from home during COVID-19, preventing an economic collapse. He also highlighted that young Pakistanis working abroad sent $7 billion in remittances in the first quarter of this year, which is strengthening the country’s economy.
Tarar emphasized educating the youth about Pakistan’s history and their role in national development. He said young people played a key role in the Pakistan Movement and continue to contribute to the country’s progress.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth empowerment. Speaking at the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) summit, he stressed the need to prioritize education, skill development, and entrepreneurship.
He said including youth in governance and decision-making will help build a stronger future. The summit, attended by delegates from 12 countries, federal ministers, diplomats, and youth representatives, highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to international cooperation and youth development.
