Islamabad: Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif strongly criticized Arif Alvi.
In his statement, Khawaja Asif said, “A key trait of PTI leaders is shamelessness, and a clear example of this is Arif Alvi, who clung to the presidency even after his party lost the no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.”
He further stated that Arif Alvi remained in office for five more months until the elections were held—elections that he later called the “worst-rigged polls.”
“These elections were conducted under his presidency,” Khawaja Asif pointed out. “Even after that, he clung to the position for another month until the new presidential elections were completed.”
The Defense Minister added, “If USAID funds were indeed misused, why did he remain silent even after the elections? He had two years to resign with dignity, but instead, he shamelessly held on to power.”
