Five people were killed in a shooting early Sunday morning in Peshawar’s Badaber area, according to officials.

The police stated that the shooting took place around 2 a.m. in the Mashokhel area when the suspect opened “indiscriminate fire” on a vehicle. They confirmed that the motive was personal enmity and said raids are underway to apprehend the suspect.

Several similar incidents motivated by personal disputes have occurred recently.

In January, a clash between two groups in Peshawar’s Tehkal area resulted in five deaths and six injuries, with police citing personal enmity as the cause.

In South Waziristan’s Wana, three people, including a policeman, were killed in two incidents stemming from an old feud. Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot and killed a senior lawyer and his brother in Saidu Sharif’s Gulkada area.

Most recently, a 65-year-old Afghan national was shot dead in Karachi’s Baldia-8 area on Wednesday evening.

According to Saeedabad SHO Idris Bangash, Allauddin was reciting the Holy Quran after prayer when he received a phone call. As he stepped out of the mosque to take the call, two suspects on a motorcycle shot him and fled. He was critically injured and taken to Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The officer suspected personal enmity as the motive behind the attack.
