
Karachi to experience rain, thunderstorms
Rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan on Monday night and Tuesday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is currently affecting the upper regions of the country.
Under these conditions, most areas will experience cold and dry weather on Monday night and Tuesday, although cloudy conditions with rain are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other regions.
Additionally, rain and snowfall are likely in isolated areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature is predicted to range between 06-08°C on Tuesday and 05-07°C on Wednesday. In Rawalpindi, temperatures are expected to be between 08-10°C on Tuesday and 07-09°C on Wednesday.
Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather persisted across most parts of the country, with very cold conditions in hilly areas. Light drizzle was recorded in select locations, including western Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rawalpindi, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Temperature readings from different regions included:
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Pattan 05°C, Malam Jabba 04°C, Dir (Upper 04°C, Lower 02°C), Saidu Sharif and Kalam 01°C
Balochistan: Kalat 02°C
Leh remained the coldest location in Pakistan, with temperatures dropping to -06°C. Other minimum temperatures recorded were:
Gupis: -05°C
Hunza and Bagrote: -02°C
Kalam: -01°C
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C, with relative humidity in the evening at 30%. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi recorded a minimum temperature of 09°C, with evening humidity at 20%.
