Islamabad, March 28, 2025 – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board, under the leadership of Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, convened its sixth meeting at CDA Headquarters on Friday, approving several transformative initiatives aimed at urban development, governance, and digitalization.

A major decision taken during the meeting was the approval of a third-party audit for all CDA projects to uphold transparency and ensure adherence to merit. Infrastructure development remained a key focus, with the rehabilitation of IJ Principal Road’s North service road and the Murree Road stretch from Kashmir Chowk to Faizabad Interchange approved to enhance commuting ease.

To modernize urban planning, the Board sanctioned the procurement of equipment for a Geographic Information System (GIS) Lab under the Geo-Spatial Technology Wing. Additionally, a Central Pool system for official vehicles will be introduced to curb misuse and fuel wastage, aligning with the government’s austerity drive.

The meeting also addressed healthcare improvements, approving the engagement of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for upgrading Capital Hospital. In a move to regulate official housing, employees occupying residences beyond their entitlement will be reallocated as per seniority, with strict action against illegal subletting.

Furthermore, marriage halls and marquees violating Building Control Regulations have been given a 15-day deadline to clear dues, with defaulters facing penalties and legal consequences after June 10. The Board also approved the digitization of 18 citizen-centric services, streamlining accessibility under the Integrated Civic and Digital Services Project.
