PESHAWAR: Heavy rainfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed four lives and left nine people injured in various incidents, the PDMA reported on Monday.
The current wet spell in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has claimed four lives and injured nine people, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
According to the PDMA, the rainfall damaged at least 14 houses. The report stated that rain-related incidents occurred in KP’s Haripur, Battagram, Bajaur, Kohistan, Dir, Hangu, Khyber, and Torghar districts.
Heavy rainfall with gusty winds battered Buner, Malakand, Nowshera, Mohmand, Lakki Marwat, and nearby areas, intensifying the frosty weather.
Snowfall continues in Swat, Mansehra, and various parts of the Chitral district, including the region near the Lowari Tunnel. Police reported that landslides at two points in Upper Kohistan have blocked the Karakoram Highway.
A westerly wave has entered northern Balochistan, bringing rainfall and intensifying cold weather in Chaman and nearby areas. Rainfall has also hit Qilla Abdullah, Gulistan, Jungle Pir Ali, and Toba Achakzai.
