A Pakistan Navy vessel is taking part in an international defence exhibition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to strengthen maritime cooperation between the two nations, the military’s media wing announced on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), PNS Yarmouk has arrived in the UAE to participate in the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX 25).

Several key officials, including the UAE’s minister for tolerance and the defence ministers of Romania and Yemen, visited the ship during the event.

“The Pakistan Navy’s participation in the exhibition underscores its strong defence ties with the UAE and highlights its active role in global maritime security efforts,” ISPR stated.

In recent years, Pakistan has increased its naval diplomacy, especially with Gulf nations, to boost maritime security and defence partnerships. This growing engagement aligns with Islamabad’s broader strategy to maintain regional stability and protect crucial trade routes amid shifting geopolitical landscapes.

The UAE defence event, which features naval vessels from eight countries and delegations from 65 nations, follows Pakistan’s hosting of the AMAN-25 multinational maritime exercise, where over 60 countries collaborated on regional security drills.

Additionally, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia recently conducted the Affaa Al Sahil bilateral naval exercise, which concluded in Karachi last month with an impressive display of firepower and combat tactics.

As part of its visit to the UAE, PNS Yarmouk also conducted joint exercises with the UAE Navy’s ship Al Emarat, further strengthening operational coordination between the two navies.
