Sports promote positive change, international solidarity: says PM
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken immediate notice of complaints regarding gas supply issues faced by domestic consumers during Suhoor and Iftar in the holy month of Ramadan.
To address these concerns, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an emergency late-night meeting at the ministerial level with the managing directors and senior administration of the Sui gas companies.
Based on discussions in the meeting, both Sui companies have taken prompt measures to resolve consumer issues and ensure continuous monitoring of gas pressure during Ramadan through field staff and control rooms.
In light of these meetings, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced to increase of 10% average in gas pressure via SMS-controlled systems, which will improve gas flow.
The company has also decided that areas located at the far ends of the gas distribution network and those with lower capacity infrastructure will have their supply opened 30 to 45 minutes before the scheduled Suhoor and Iftar times, resulting in improved system pressure in these regions.
Additionally, Sui Southern Gas will acquire an additional 20 MMCFD of gas to further increase transmission line capacity and compensate for any shortages.
Control rooms will be established at the head office and regional offices to monitor the gas supply, ensuring daily oversight of the network’s status.
Furthermore, complaints regarding low gas pressure will be addressed on an emergency basis, with regional officials submitting daily reports to the administration. Additionally, Sui Southern will keep media representatives informed about the progress of these measures.
