Tensions rise at Torkham as Afghan Taliban provokes conflict

Heavy firing continue on the Torkham-Jalalabad border between Pakistan and Afghanistan border forces, heavy weapons are being used.

According to reports, the clashes erupted after Afghan forces attempted construction in a disputed area despite Pakistan’s repeated warnings and peace efforts. The situation remains volatile as Pakistan retaliates against the aggression.

The Afghan Taliban’s repeated border provocations highlight their desperation as Pakistan tightens its grip on terrorism, particularly targeting Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants operating from Afghan soil.

Despite claiming to support regional stability, the Taliban regime has consistently harbored and facilitated TTP terrorists, allowing them to launch cross-border attacks against Pakistan.

Instead of addressing Afghanistan’s internal challenges, the Taliban continue to escalate border tensions, using conflict as a distraction from their governance failures. Their actions not only endanger Afghan civilians but also deepen their international isolation.

Pakistan’s decisive countermeasures against TTP hideouts have further exposed the Afghan Taliban’s duplicity in sheltering and supporting militants. Every border clash engineered by the Taliban stems from frustration over Pakistan’s crackdown on terrorist sanctuaries.
