The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and thunderstorms in the northern parts of the country today, with snowfall expected in high-altitude areas.

According to the latest weather update, rain and strong winds, along with thunderstorms, are likely in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and upper Punjab.

A weak westerly weather system is currently affecting the upper regions of the country. While most areas will experience dry and partly cloudy conditions, some cities are expected to receive rainfall over the next two days.

Rain is also forecasted in various parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, and several other districts.

In Punjab, cities like Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan, and Multan may also see showers. Rain is expected in Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, and Khanewal as well. Some areas in Sindh, such as Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, and Larkana, might also receive rain.

Over the past 24 hours, many parts of the country experienced partly cloudy weather, with scattered rain and thunderstorms in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and the Pothohar region.

Some areas received notable rainfall, including Cherat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which recorded 14mm, and Upper Dir with 12mm. Muzaffarabad in Kashmir received 7mm, while Murree in Punjab recorded 4mm, and Islamabad saw 3mm of rain. Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan received 5mm, while Nokkundi in Balochistan recorded 1mm.
