NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The Bannu Board has postponed the matric examinations in North Waziristan due to security concerns, news reported.
The Bannu Board rescheduled the matric exams, originally set to begin on April 8, to a later date to ensure the safety of students and staff in the region.
The Bannu Board issued a notification stating that it decided due to the prevailing law and order situation in North Waziristan. The board added that it would announce new exam dates after consulting with relevant authorities.
The postponement affects over 920,000 students across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who were set to appear in the annual matriculation exams. However, the exams will proceed as planned in other districts, with multiple education boards overseeing the process.

In a separate development, authorities launched the annual matric exams in Karachi today under strict security measures.
According to details, around 380,000 students from both science and general groups, including regular and private candidates, are taking part in the exams.
The law enforcement agencies have been notified to enforce Section 144 around examination centres to maintain order and prevent any malpractice during the exams.
Authorities have issued clear directives to confiscate any electronic device or mobile phone found within the examination centers immediately.
