Field Marshal Munir thanks political leadership & youth for decisive role during Marka-e-Haq

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed profound gratitude to the political leadership for their strategic foresight during Marka-e-Haq, the period (April 22 to May 10) of the recent war with India, read a statement issued by the military’s media wing on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made the remarks while addressing a dinner hosted by him to honour the political leadership, the steadfast commitment of the armed forces, and the indomitable spirit of the people of Pakistan as demonstrated during Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

In his remarks, the field marshal lauded the seamless inter-services coordination that ensured operational success in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the role of Pakistani youth and media in standing firm against India’s disinformation campaign, calling them a “steel wall” against harmful propaganda. He also appreciated the efforts of Pakistani scientists, engineers, and diplomats, saying their professionalism and determination were key during the conflict.

The event served as a strong reminder of national unity and the shared commitment to move forward with greater strength and togetherness, according to the official statement.

The ceremony was attended by many high-profile leaders, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Senate chairman, National Assembly speaker, federal ministers, governors, chief ministers, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, service chiefs, senior political leaders, top government officials, and senior military officers.

Those present honored the wise leadership that guided the country through a crucial time, praised the bravery and sacrifice of the armed forces, and acknowledged the strong patriotism shown by the people of Pakistan.
