Weather update: Rain, hailstorms, thunderstorms predicted till May 5

The weather department has predicted heavy rain, hailstorms, and strong winds across the country starting today and continuing until May 5.

In response, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning for the public and relevant authorities to stay alert.

Rain, hail, and thunderstorms are expected in areas like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, and some parts of Sindh.

The NDMA has told local and provincial authorities to take early steps to deal with possible emergencies such as flash floods, landslides, or waterlogging in cities.

People, especially those living in or planning to visit hilly areas, are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the bad weather.
